Louise Doughty is the author of eight novels, five plays for radio and one work of non-fiction. Her seventh novel was the number one bestseller Apple Tree Yard, which has been translated into thirty languages and sold half a million copies in the UK alone. A BBC One adaptation was shown on television last year with Emily Watson in the lead role. Her sixth novel, Whatever You Love, was shortlisted for the Costa Prize and longlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction. Her most recent book is Black Water, which was nominated by the New York Times as one of the most notable books of 2016.
